MNPOC Pride – Board Member Job Description
Responsibilities of a MNPOC Pride Board Member
Board members are expected to:

Read, review, and understand the contents of MNPOC Pride’s Bylaws

Abide by conflict of interest and confidentiality policies

Commit fully to MNPOC Pride’s mission, vision, and programs

Attend at least 75% of meetings and major events (including the annual “Better Together” Pride Festival)

Represent MNPOC Pride at community events, coalition meetings, and advocacy opportunities
-
Take initiative to lead or participate in committees, projects, or special events

Support the board in fulfilling its fiduciary and governance responsibilities

Participate in training and development around nonprofit leadership, fundraising, and LGBTQIA2S+ advocacy

Identify and refer potential board candidates, sponsors, and community partners
-
Promote MNPOC Pride’s mission across LGBTQIA2S+ and intersectional communities, helping expand visibility and engagement
Time Commitment
Depending on the time of year, board members can expect to volunteer an average of 2–10 hours per month, increasing to 15–30 hours per month during peak Pride Festival planning.
This is an unpaid, volunteer leadership position that plays a vital role in strengthening the mission and sustainability of MNPOC Pride.
Eligible candidates should reside in Minneapolis, St. Paul, or surrounding Twin Cities metro communities.
