Mission Statement:
MNPOC Pride is dedicated to uplifting, celebrating, and empowering LGBTQ+ people of color across Minnesota by creating inclusive spaces, building community, and fostering pride through cultural events, advocacy, education, and year-round programming. Guided by our belief that we are Always Better Together, we work to amplify voices, strengthen connections, and advance equity, wellness, and opportunity for diverse LGBTQ+ communities.

Impact:

MNPOC Pride creates safe, affirming, and culturally responsive spaces where LGBTQ+ Black, Indigenous, and People of Color can celebrate identity, access resources, build leadership, and thrive together as a community.

About Us

The Minnesota People of Color LGBT Pride organization, also known as MN POC Pride, we play a significant role in supporting and enhancing the lives of LGBTQ+ people of color in Minnesota. Here's how we contribute to the community:

●      Advocacy: MN POC Pride engages in direct person-to-person advocacy, focusing on civil engagement and HIV health advocacy to support LGBTQ+ persons of color.

●      Community Building: We organize the Twin Cities Black Pride Festival weekend, which is a hallmark event that brings together the community to celebrate diversity and culture.

●      Education: Our organization is dedicated to educating about the commonalities and differences within the LGBTQ+ community, addressing issues of race, culture, class, politics, and sexual health.

●      Social Change: MN POC Pride works towards creating social change and advancing equity and equality for BIPOC LGBTQ+ people.

●      Inclusion: Our vision includes offering everyone a "S.L.I.C.E." of Pride, which stands for Socialization, Literature, Inclusion, Charity, and Education. This acronym reflects the foundational principles of the organization.

●      Support Services: We provide support services such as the Early Intervention Services (EIS) Outreach Program, which aims to open doors for people of color, bridge gaps between groups, address health disparities, and engage in supportive projects and partnerships.

Through these efforts, MN POC Pride is making a positive impact on the quality of life for LGBTQ+ people of color and their families living in Minnesota. We strive to create a cohesive, progressive environment where everyone is included, supported, and empowered.
